Heavy Duty Riveter:

SPECIAL SERVICE TOOL(S)

REMOVAL

NOTE: Expedition shown, Navigator similar.

1. Remove the liftgate trim panel.







2. Disconnect the power door lock actuator electrical connector.







3. Drill out the rivet.







4. Disconnect the power door lock actuator rod and remove the actuator.

INSTALLATION

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Use Heavy Duty Riveter to install the new rivets.

NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn the strategy.
