Identification of Tires In the Continental Recall

WHICH TIRES ARE INVOLVED IN THE RECALL?

CONTINENTAL CONTITRAC AW SIZE: P275/60R17

GENERAL GRABBER AW SIZE: 275/60R17

Not all Continental ContiTrac AW and General Grabber AW P275/60R17 tires are involved in this recall. Only tires with this size AND with the last digits of the DOT number as 109 through DOT 4400 are a part of this recall.

DOT number deciphering

The numbers at the end of the DOT represent the week and the year that the tires were manufactured. The number 109 indicates the tires were manufactured during the 10th week of 1999 and the number 4400 indicates the tires were manufactured during the 44th week of 2000.

Some examples of manufacturing dates are:

^ 1100 - 11th week of 2000

^ 519 - 51st week of 1999

^ 1501 - 15th week of 2001

This means that tires with DOT # ending with _109 through _529 (week 10 through week 52 of 1999) and tires with DOT # ending with _100 through 4400 (week 01 through week 44 of 2000) are included in this recall. Please note that this is not a sequential numbering scheme.

THE SHEET WILL SHOW A LISTING OF THE AFFECTED DOT CODES.

First, be sure to verify that the tire is a Continental ContiTrac AW P275/60R17 or General Grabber AW P275/60R17 Tires

IF YOUR TIRES DO NOT HAVE THE ABOVE DOT CODES, THEN YOUR TIRES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL!!!!!!
