Normal Operation
Under normal operation the exterior mirror control switch receives power from circuit 956 (OG/LG) and ground from circuit 1205 (BK). The exterior mirror control switch sends input to the driver seat module (DSM) for the LH exterior mirror by switching power and ground to circuits 1476 (RD/OG), 1479 (DB/OG) and 1477 (YE/BK) and for the RH exterior mirror by switching power and ground to circuits 1478 (DO/OG), 1475 (PK/OG) and 1477 (YE/BK). The DSM will then send the appropriate power and ground for the LH exterior mirror motor up/down circuits 1486 (YE/LB), 1487 (DB) and left/right circuits 1485 (RD) and 1484 (YE/RD) or the RH exterior mirror motor up/down circuits 1482 (PK), 1483 (WH/PK) and left/right circuits 1480 (WH/LG), 1481 (DG).

DTC B1667 will set if the DSM senses low voltage at circuit 1486 (YE/LB) or circuit 1487 (DB).

DTC B1668 will set if the DSM senses low voltage at circuit 1485 (RD) or circuit 1484 (YE/RD).

DTC B1669 will set if the DSM senses low voltage at circuit 1482 (PK) or circuit 1483 (WH/PK).

DTC B1670 will set if the DSM senses low voltage at circuit 1480 (WH/LG) or circuit 1481 (DG).

DTC B1697 will set if the DSM senses circuit 1477 (YE/BK) is shorted to battery.

DTC B1735 will set if the DSM senses circuit 1479 (DB/OG) is shorted to battery.

DTC B1739 will set if the DSM senses circuit 1476 (RD/OG) is shorted to battery.

DTC B1743 will set if the DSM senses circuit 1475 (PK/OG) is shorted to battery.

DTC B1747 will set if the DSM senses circuit 1478 (DG/OG) is shorted to battery.

Possible Causes
- An open, short to voltage or short to ground in circuits: 1475 (PK/OG), 1476 (RD/OG), 1477 (YE/BK), 1478 (DG/OG), 1479 (DB/OG), 1480 (WH/LG), 1481 (DG), 1482 (PK), 1483 (WH/PK), 1484 (YE/RD), 1485 (RD), 1486 (YE/LB), 1487 (DB).
- Open in circuit 956 (OG/LG).
- Open in circuit 1205 (BK).
- Faulty DSM.
- Inoperative exterior mirror control switch.
- Inoperative exterior mirror.
