Water Pump: Service and Repair
Water Pump1. Drain the cooling system.
2. Remove the cooling fan.
3. Remove the upper fan shroud.
4. Remove the accessory drive belt.
5. Remove the components in the order indicated in the illustration and table.
6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
7. Fill and bleed the cooling system.
Item 5: Water Pump O-Ring Installation Note
1. CAUTION: Do not rotate the water pump housing once installed in the engine. Damage to the O-ring seal can occur, causing the water pump to leak.
Install a new O-ring seal and lubricate with clean engine coolant before installing the pump.
