Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview
INSPECTION AND VERIFICATION1. Verify the customer concern.

2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.
3. Make sure the autolamps and manual control of the headlamps operate correctly before proceeding to the next step.
4. Make sure the parking brake warning indicator operates correctly (the parking brake warning indicator should be illuminated only when the parking brake is engaged). If the parking brake warning indicator does not operate correctly, refer to Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators.
5. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
6. If the concern is not visually evident. Verify the symptom and GO to Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
