Normal Operation
Battery voltage is supplied to the daytime running lamp (DRL) module through circuit 434 (LB/BK). Switched power from central junction box (CJB) fuse 8 (5A) supplies power to the DRL module through circuit 932 (GY/WH). Input from the parking brake switch is sent through circuit 162 (LG/RD). Input from the low beam headlamps is received from circuit 13 (RD/BK). The reduced voltage that the DRL module sends out, flows through circuit 12 (LG/BK) to the DRL/turn relay. When the DRL/turn relay is energized, power from the DRL module is interrupted. Power to the DRL/turn relay coil is sent through circuits 379 (BN/WH) and 380 (VT/YE) when the multifunction switch is in the RH or LH turn positions. Ground to the DRL module and the DRL/turn relay is provided through circuit 1205 (BK).
Possible Causes
- Circuit 434 (LB/BK) open.
- Circuit 932 (GY/WH) open.
- Circuit 12 (LG/BK) open.
- Circuit 1205 (BK) open.
- Circuit 379 (BN/WH) shorted to power.
- Circuit 380 (VT/YE) shorted to power.
- DRL/turn relay.
- DRL module.
