Test I6-I8:

Normal Operation
The 4x4 high indicator status is transmitted to the instrument cluster from the 4x4 module (PCM) through the controller area network (CAN), circuits 1827 (WH/LG) and 1828 (PK/LG). A steady indicator displays whether the vehicle is in 4x4 LOW or 4x4 HIGH, according to the driver selection. Flashing 4x4 high and 4x4 low indicators is an indication that the instrument cluster has lost communication with the 4x4 module (PCM). For information about CAN refer to Information Bus.

Possible Causes
^ 4x4 system fault
^ CAN circuits:
- 1827 (WH/LG)
- 1828 (PK/LG)
^ 4x4 module (PCM)
