Headlamp Switch: Service and Repair

1982---83 CONTINENTAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove steering column trim shrouds.
3. Unsnap the instrument panel cluster lower molding to expose five screws along bottom of cluster lens and remove.
4. Remove the lefthand lower pad retaining screws and carefully tilt the pad out from under the cluster lens.
5. Disconnect the headlamp switch wiring connectors.
6. Insert a hooked tool into headlight switch knob slot and remove spring tension on knob, then pull off.
7. Remove switch retaining nut and lens.
8. Remove second nut and screw retaining the switch to lower pad and remove.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
