AIR CLEANER (5.0L) VACUUM HOSE ROUTING


LINCOLN-MERCURY 1983 CONTINENTAL - 5.0L

When reassembling the 1983 5.0L Continental air cleaner, the vacuum hose from the cold weather modulator to the vacuum motor must be routed to the right (Passenger) side of the air cleaner. The proper routing (Figure 8) is under the PCV hose and over the carbon cannister purge adapter (if applicable) on the right side. Proper routing prevents possible interference with the air cleaner tray and fuel injection body.
