HESITATION (5.0L CFI) - COLD/WARM ENGINE

FORD 1983 FORD, THUNDERBIRD

LINCOLN-MERCURY 1983 MERCURY, LINCOLN, MARK VI, CONTINENTAL

Hesitation during cold/warm engine operation can be serviced by setting fast/curb idle speeds to specification.

NOTE: Speeds higher than recommended setting result in lean off-idle acceleration fuel enrichment.

1. Check and reset curb/fast idle speeds to specification shown on vehicle decal.
2. If curb idle speed reset is more than 50 rpm, the AOD transmission lever (TV) must be readjusted to the procedure in Section 17-20 of the applicable
shop manual.
