TIRE WEAR - OUTER EDGE OF FRONT TIRE


FORD 1982-84 CROWN VICTORIA

LINCOLN-MERCURY 1982-84 GRAND MARQUIS, LINCOLN TOWN CAR; 1982-83 MARK VI

Use the following procedure to optimize tire life on the above listed vehicles when the vehicle wheel alignment is within specification and the front tire outer edge wear is due to a duty cycle consisting of excessive turning maneuvers.

1. Rotate the tires.
2. Check and set tire pressure (cold) to the maximum pressure indicated on the tire sidewall.

NOTE: DO NOT exceed the maximum pressure indicated on the sidewall.

3. Adjust the front caster and camber as close as possible to + 4~ caster and - 0.25~ camber. Maintain side-to-side caster and side-to-side camber within +/- 0.75~.
4. Adjust front total toe to - 1/16 inch (toe-out).
