Windshield, Lip Seal, Body Sealing Leaks

Windshield

1. Check for windshield sealer leak with an ultrasonic leak detector.

2. If a leak is present, seal windshield moulding to windshield glass with clear RTV (D6AZ-19562- AA), Figure 16.

Shed Lip Seal

1. If shed lip seal is loose on moulding, replace shed lip seal as outlined in TSB 86-13-4. Refer to TSB update 86-14 and 86-16 for correct part numbers.

Body Sealing

1. If windnoise is from the headliner area above interior roof rail garnish moulding, remove front and rear drip mouldings.

2. Using a flashlight, check sheet metal joints at "A" pillar beltline, roof rail, and top of "B" pillar, Figures 17 and 18. Seal all holes and joints.

3. Seal roof panel to roof rail flange forward of "B" pillar, Figure 19.

4. Reinstall front and rear drip rail mouldings.

5. Fill hole at juncture of front drip to "B" pillar moulding with black RTV (D6AZ-19562-BA), Figure 20.

6. Check front and rear doors at beltline seal, Figures 21 and 22. Tap down any high step joints that are found.

7. Seal sheet metal joints with black RTV (D6AZ- 19562-BA), Figures 21 and 22.

8. Seal outer belt mouldings to door frame with clear RTV (D6AZ-19562-AA).

9. Remove "B" pillar interior trim and roof rail assist handles and moulding.

10. Check for stuffer bags in roof rail and deadener patch"B" pillar. If required, install stuffer bags and tape over all sheet metal holes in "B" pillar with waterproof tape (D6AZ-19627-A), Figure 23.

11. Reinstall "B" pillar interior trim and roof rail assist handles and mouldings.
