Citizens Band Radio System - Inoperative

84ford13 Article No. 84-13-3

RADIO - "HELP" CITIZENS BAND RADIO SYSTEM - INOPERATIVE

LINCOLN-MERCURY 1984 MARK VII, CONTINENTAL

An inoperative "help" citizens band radio system may be caused by a short circuit inside the molded connector on the coil cable (part no. E4LY-19B111-A).

Check #11 fuse. If fuse is open circuit, disconnect "help" CB radio from vehicle, replace the fuse, and operate the vehicle's entertainment radio and power antenna. If #11 fuse stays intact, the "help" CB radio coil cable is suspect. Replace the cable with a new service cable assembly.
