FORD 1983-84 CROWN VICTORIA, LTD

MERCURY 1983-84 GRAND MARQUIS, LINCOLN TOWN CAR, MARK VI

SYNOPSIS

The service procedures outlined in this article cover specialty roof options (i.e. formal coach roofs, simulated convertible tops, etc.) and related component procedures unique to these options. In some instances, it may be necessary to consult the appropriate shop manual for interior trim and moulding removal and back glass replacement procedures when required. When performing these procedures all normal precautions should be taken to protect painted surfaces, glass and interior trim. Cover and/or mask off these areas as appropriate.

WARNING: Disconnect the vehicle battery to prevent excessive discharge or electrical hazard when wiring is involved. Protective clothing, safety glasses and respiratory equipment should be used as required.

It is recommended that these procedures be performed by technicians experienced with vehicle trim and/or glass. For those procedures which require removal of the cap from the vehicle, employ 2 persons to lift the cap off and on the vehicle. Failure to do so could result in the cap breaking and significant additional costs.

The vehicles and applicable components listed below are covered in the service procedures that follow.
