FUEL SYSTEM - FUEL TANK WILL NOT FILL ON FAST PUMP SETTINGS

LINCOLN-MERCURY 1984 MARK VII/CONTINENTAL - GASOLINE & DIESEL ENGINES

Fuel tank refueling rate can be increased by installing a new fuel filler pipe.

A new fuel filler pipe has been released to increase fuel tank refueling rates at fast pump settings.

The following procedure should be performed:

1. Remove the production fuel filler pipe.
2. Install the new fuel filler pipe E4LY-9034-D (Diesel), or E4LY-9034-A (Gasoline).




Obtain an Authorized Modifications decal and list the date, dealer number and summary of alterations performed. Select a prominent place adjacent to the Vehicle Emission Control Information decal suitable for installing the Authorized Modifications decal. Clean the area, install the decal and cover it with a clear plastic decal shield.
