NO START/NO CRANK CONDITION - NEUTRAL START SWITCH CONNECTOR OPEN CIRCUIT
LINCOLN-MERCURY 1984 MARK VII AND CONTINENTAL
On some 1984 Mark VII and Continental vehicles the 4-way soft moulded wire connector at the transmission neutral start switch may have one or more spread open terminals that will result in a no crank/no start condition.

When a no crank/no start condition is encountered on the subject vehicles, the technician should check for and, if necessary, service the spread open terminals in the connector as outlined in Figure 19 before performing other normal no start diagnostic procedures.
