Refrigerant Recovery
DISCHARGING REFRIGERANT
NOTE: Discharge the refrigerant from the system before replacing any part of the refrigerant system, except the clutch-cycling pressure switch.
1. Remove the caps from the high and low pressure service access gauge port valves.
2. Turn both manifold gauge valves fully clockwise to close the high and low pressure hoses to the center manifold and hose.
3. If the gauge hoses do not have the service valve depresser pins, install fitting adapters T71P-19703-S and T71P-19703-R, or equivalent, on the manifold gauge set hoses.
Service Hose Adapter Tools:
4. Install a special adapter Tool D81L-19703-A or Motorcraft YT-355 or equivalent on the manifold gauge set high pressure hose.
Refrigerant System Service Connections:
5. Connect the manifold gauge set high and low pressure hoses, with adapters, to the respective high and low pressure service access gauge port valves.
6. Install the open end of the center hose to an approved recovery unit.
7. Depressurize the refrigeration system by opening the low pressure valve of the manifold gauge set and allow the refrigerant to discharge into the approved recovery unit.
