MOBILE TELEPHONE SYSTEM - INTRODUCTION AND SCHEDULE OF AVAILABILITY

LINCOLN-MERCURY 1984-1/2 MARK VII; 1985 TOWN CAR, CONTINENTAL

The Mobile Telephone System will be introduced as an option on the following car lines:

Car Line Introduction Date

1984 Mark VII June 1984
1985 Town Car November 1984
1985 Continental November 1984

The Mobile Telephone System features hands-free operation which eliminates the need to hold the handset. This approach leaves both hands for vehicle control. The system uses a new network called "Cellular" that has been introduced in Chicago in October, 1983. The network will cover most of the metropolitan areas by the end of 1985. Although the Mobile Telephone System will only be offered on Chicago area vehicles initially, availability will be expanded as the "cellular" system becomes operational in other areas.

The following schedule is based on the best information available at the time of printing and may be changed by the various telephone service operating companies at any time. Ford does not provide telephone service nor is Ford in any way affiliated with a telephone service operating company.
