Dear Continental Owner:

This is to inform you of a special Ford Motor Company no-charge service program involving certain 1984 through 1986-model Continental vehicles. Our records show that you own the Continental described below that is covered by the program.

Reason For The Program:
The "real wood" veneer on the interior trim panel appliques on your Continental may exhibit a bubbling and/or separation condition. This condition appears to be caused by time in-service and heat exposure.
Description Of The Program:
Ford Motor Company is providing extended coverage for the interior trim panel appliques for 36 months from your vehicle's in-service date or for 36,000 miles of operation, whichever comes first or April 15, 1988, WHICHEVER PROVIDES GREATER COVERAGE. If the appliques exhibit a bubbling and/or separation condition within these limitations, they will be replaced with simulated woodgrain panels at no charge to you.
What You Should Do:
You are requested to inspect the interior "real wood" trim panel appliques of your vehicle to determine if the bubbling and/or separation condition exists. If you prefer, you may return your vehicle to any Lincoln-Mercury dealership to have the inspection performed at no charge to you.
To Have This Service Performed:
To have the appliques replaced please contact any Lincoln-Mercury dealer to arrange for an appointment. Dealers have been advised of this program and can assist you as necessary.
Refunds:
If you have already had the appliques of your vehicle replaced at your expense prior to this program because of the described conditions, Ford will refund you for the full cost that you incurred - parts and labor.
Refund Requests:
For a refund present your paid repair order or over-the-counter parts purchase receipt to any Lincoln-Mercury dealer in your area by April 15, 1988. The dealer will process a refund if the appliques were replaced within the limitations of this program.
