`A' Pillar - Wind/Flutter Noise

LINCOLN-MERCURY 1985-86 LINCOLN TOWN CAR
An objectionable wind/flutter noise heard in the "A" pillar area may be caused by poor attachment of the front door drip moulding shed lip seal to the door.
To eliminate the noise, replace the shed lip seal with a new shed lip seal made from improved material using the following procedure.
1. Remove the screw used to attach the front door drip moulding to the "A" pillar.

2. Pull down on the horizontal portion of the front door drip moulding and the portion of the moulding attached to the "A" pillar until the six retainers release the moulding. (See Figure 2)
3. Remove the old shed lip seal from the moulding and discard.
4. Replace the old shed lip seal with a new replacement seal (E6ZY-5451822-3-A).
