LINCOLN-MERCURY 1986 COUGAR, GRAND MARQUIS, CONTINENTAL, MARK VII, LINCOLN

CALIBRATION: All 5.0L SEFI

Replacing the starter relay on 1986 SEFI vehicles with a relay that does not contain suppression diodes will result in permanent damage to the EEC processor. The damaged processor can cause a rough running engine or a no start condition.

It is important to check the starter relay part number prior to replacement of the relay.

The correct starter relay part number will be one of the following:
