SPEEDOMETER - POINTER STICKING

LINCOLN-MERCURY 1986 MARK VII LSC

Some vehicles built between Job #1, 1986 and January 15, 1986 my have been produced with electric speedo
- dial assemblies on which the applique may "lift" from the dial. The applique may make contact with the speedo pointer causing it to stick, usually between the 10 to 20 mph position.

To correct this, remove the instrument cluster lens as described in the 1986 Car Shop Manual, Section 33-03. Apply pressure to the speedo applique near the speedo pointer opening to affix the applique to the dial using the original adhesive.
