INITIATING SELF-DIAGNOSIS

NOTE: If faults are found, begin testing with TEST A - DIAGNOSTIC TEST under DIAGNOSTIC CHARTS.

1. Turn air suspension switch to On position. Diagnostic pigtail must be ungrounded.
2. Install battery charger to reduce battery drain.
3. Cycle ignition from Off to Run position, hold in run position for a minimum of 5 seconds, then return to Off position. Driver's door is open with all other doors shut.
4. Attach a lead from diagnostic pigtail to vehicle ground. The pigtail must remain grounded during the diagnostic sequence.
5. Turn ignition switch to Run position (Do not start vehicle). The warning indicator will blink continuously at a rate of 1.8 blinks per second to indicate diagnostics has been entered and is ready.
6. Close the open driver's door once to initiate Test 1. The warning indicator will blink once, pause, blink, pause and continue pattern until next test is started.
7. Each successive transition from door closed to door open will cause module to advance to next step in test sequence. The warning indicator will blink the current test number.

TEST DESCRIPTIONS

Test 1

Test 1 is used in checking the rear suspension.

Test 2

Test 2 is used in checking the right front suspension.

Test 3

Test 3 is used in checking the left front suspension.
During tests 1 through 3, the following steps occur:
1. The affected portion of the vehicle will raise for 15 seconds, then continue raising an additional 15 seconds (30 seconds total maximum) or until a ``Vehicle High'' signal or illegal sensor reading is received from the appropriate height sensor.
2. The affected portion of the vehicle will lower for 30 seconds or until a ``Vehicle Low'' signal or illegal sensor reading is received from the appropriate height sensor.
3. The affected portion of the vehicle will raise for 30 seconds or until a ``Vehicle Trim'' signal or illegal sensor reading is received from the appropriate height sensor.
If the expected signal is not received within 30 seconds (total maximum), the test will stop and the warning light will glow continuously. If an improper sensor reading is obtained, the test will stop and the warning light will flash rapidly. The failed test may then be repeated by closing or opening the car door, or the next test may be started by opening and closing the car door twice within 15 seconds.

Test 4

During test 4, the compressor is cycled On and Off at .25 Hz. The compressor is limited to a maximum of 50 cycles.

Test 5

The compressor vent solenoid is cycled (open and closed) at 1 Hz.

Test 6

Left front solenoid is cycled (open and closed) at 1 Hz and the compressor vent solenoid is opened. As the test progresses, the left front of the vehicle will drop slowly.

Test 7

Right front solenoid is cycled (open and closed) at 1 Hz and the compressor vent solenoid is opened. As the test progresses, the right front of the vehicle will drop slowly.

Test 8

Right rear solenoid is cycled (open and closed) at 1 Hz and the compressor vent solenoid is opened. As the test progresses, the right rear of the vehicle will drop slowly.

Test 9

Left rear solenoid is cycled (open and closed) at 1 Hz and the compressor vent solenoid is opened. As the test progresses, the left rear of the vehicle will drop slowly.

Test 10

Disconnecting the diagnostic lead, depressing the brake pedal or turning ignition Off will return the module from diagnostics to the normal operating mode.
Allow time for vehicle to return to proper height, the turn ignition switch to Off position. Remove diagnostic ground lead in luggage compartment.

TERMINATING SELF-DIAGNOSIS

Diagnostics may be terminated and the module returned to normal operational mode at any time by cycling the ignition, actuating the brake or ungrounding the diagnostic pigtail.
