1989 Valve Body Gaskets

The 1989 AOD must use the new valve body gasket.




The newly designed valve body gasket for the 1989 AOD transmission has several additional holes. (See diagram)

This gasket must be used for the 1989 style transmission. However, the "new" gasket can be used on previously manufactured units.

If the early gasket is used on the 1989 valve body, the result will be no 1-2 up-shift.

If an earlier valve body is replaced with a 1989 valve body, the new separator plate and gaskets must be used, as well.
