Connecting Rod: Service and Repair

Fig. 8 Piston & Rod Assembly:

Assemble rod to piston with notch on piston dome on same side as oil squirt hole on connecting rod, Fig. 8. Assemble piston and rod assembly in engine with notch in dome facing front of engine.
After installation, check connecting rod big end side clearance. Clearance should be .0047-.0114 inch.
