Air Register: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Rotate louver assembly to full upward position.
2. Working from inside the louver assembly, insert a thin-bladed screwdriver under the retaining tab and carefully pry it toward the louvers until the retaining tab pivot clears the hole in the register opening.
3. Pull the base of the louver assembly out from its housing only far enough to prevent the pivot from going back into the pivot hole.
4. Repeat Step 2 for the second retaining tab. Then remove the louver assembly from its opening.


INSTALLATION
1. Position the louver assembly in front of its opening.
2. Depress the retaining tab on the LH end of the louver assembly, push the LH end into the opening and engage the retaining tab pivot in the pivot hole.
3. Depress the retaining tab on the RH end of the louver assembly and engage the retaining tab pivot into the V-notch just behind the finish panel edge.
4. Push the louver assembly on the RH end straight into its opening until the retaining tab pivot snaps into the pivot hole.
