Compressor


1. Disconnect battery ground cable and drain radiator coolant.
2. Discharge and evacuate the refrigerant from system.
3. Drain cooling system.
4. Disconnect and remove integrated relay controller.
5. Remove fan and shroud assembly.
6. Disconnect upper and lower radiator hoses, then remove radiator.
7. Disconnect compressor clutch wire from field coil connector on compressor.
8. Remove top two compressor mounting bolts.
9. Raise and support vehicle. Working from underneath vehicle, loosen and remove compressor drive belt.
10. Disconnect HEGO wire.
11. Remove A/C muffler support strap bolt from subframe.
12. Disconnect A/C system hose from condenser and accumulator/dryer. Cap lines to prevent contamination.
13. Remove two compressor bottom mounting bolts. Support compressor while removing bolts.

14. Remove compressor, (illustration) manifold and tube assemblies from vehicle as a unit. Compressor can be removed from beneath the vehicle. Ensure that unit does not scrape against condenser.
15. Remove manifold and tube assemblies from compressor.
16. Reverse procedure to install.
