Recall 97V174000: Seat Belt Buckle Defect

Vehicle Description: Passenger vehicles. The front outboard seating position seat belt buckles may not latch or unlatch. These conditions could reduce seat belt usage increasing the risk of personal injury in the event of a vehicle crash. Dealers will replace the front outboard seat belt buckle assemblies. Owner notification is expected to begin during November 1997. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact Ford at 1-800-392-3673.
