Attachment IV - Technical Instructions - Lincoln Town Car

Replace or install new Daytime Running Lights Module (DRL) using the following steps:

Lincoln Town Car:

1. Locate connector to the DRL System on the inside of the left hand Apron, below the hood support (Figure 2).

2. Pull the connector from the side of the apron and remove the jumper plug from the connector. (If a DRL Module is already installed, remove the connector from the DRL Module, and unscrew the DRL Module from the apron. Mutilate and scrap this DRL Module.)

3. Place the DRL Module (as illustrated in Figure 2) over the holes into mounting position.

4. Attach module securely.

5. Attach the connector to the DRL Module.

6. Verify the system is working properly. The high beam lamps should have a reduced intensity whenever the Ignition Switch is in the "RUN" position, the Parking Brake is fully released, and the normal headlamp system is "OFF" (using either the headlamp switch or the Auto-Lamp feature).

High Beam Indicator

1. The High Beam Warning Light should not be "ON" when in the DRL Mode.

2. In the Flash-To-Pass Mode, the High Beam Warning Light will:

^ come "ON" during Daytime conditions (when vehicle front and rear exterior lights off).

^ not come "ON" during nighttime conditions (when vehicle front and rear exterior lights are on).
