Headlamp Switch: Service and Repair

1. Disable airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Insert a hooked tool into headlight switch knob slot and remove spring tension on knob, then pull off.
4. Remove headlamp auto dimmer switch knob, if equipped.
5. Remove righthand and lefthand moldings from instrument panel by pulling away from instrument panel and snapping out of retainers.
6. Remove 12 finish panel retaining screws.
7. Remove finish panel, then the headlamp switch bracket retaining screws and bracket.
8. Remove switch to bracket retaining nut, then disconnect electrical connector and remove switch.
9. Reverse procedure to install. Rearm airbag as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
