Cruise Control Brush Assembly: Service and Repair

1. Set front wheels in a straight ahead position, then disarm airbag as described in ``Airbag System Disarming.''
2. Remove four airbag module retaining nuts, then lift airbag module from steering wheel.
3. Remove and discard steering wheel retaining bolt, then grasp rim of steering wheel and pull off.
3. Remove tilt lever, then the upper and lower steering column shroud.
4. Separate speed control brush wire harness at connector and remove harness retainers from steering column.
5. Remove brush assembly to upper steering column retaining screw.
6. Reverse procedure to install, torque retaining screw to 18-26 inch lbs. and new steering wheel bolt to 23-33 ft. lbs.
