Balance Shaft: Service and Repair

1. Remove engine from the vehicle.
2. Remove timing cover and timing chain from engine.
3. Remove oil pan.

4. Remove balance shaft thrust plate, then the balance shaft.

CAUTION: Do not damage bearings during removal.

5. Reverse procedure to install. Lubricate balance shaft bearing journals with suitable lubricant when assembling.
