Shock Absorber Strut And Spring Assembly:
NOTE: The strut and air spring assembly must be replaced as an assembly. The strut is not serviceable. Only the damaged or malfunctioning assembly must be replaced, they do not need to be replaced in pairs.
Fig. 3 Marking Toe Adjustment Cam:
1. Position suitable jack or hoist under vehicle, then raise just enough to contact body.
2. Disconnect air suspension electrical wiring and all related parts that will interfere with strut removal.
3. Loosen, but do not remove, the strut to inner body attaching nuts.
4. Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel and tire assembly.
5. Remove brake hose to strut bracket attaching clip, then position hose aside.
6. If applicable, remove stabilizer bar attaching hardware and insulators, then separate stabilizer bar from link.
7. If applicable, remove tension strut to spindle attaching nut, washer and insulator, then move spindle rearward until it can be separated from tension strut.
8. Mark position of notch on toe adjustment cam, Fig. 3.
9. Remove strut to spindle pinch bolt, then using a pry bar or other suitable tool, separate pinch joint as necessary to allow for strut removal.
10. Disengage strut from pinch joint, then lower vehicle as necessary to allow removal of upper attaching nuts.
11. Remove strut from vehicle.
12. Reverse procedure to install.
