Electronic Day/Night Mirror
DESCRIPTIONThe Electronic Day/Night Mirror automatically switches to the "NIGHT" position to reduce glare from headlamps approaching from the rear.
OPERATION
Power flows through Fuse 9 and the 640 (R/Y) wire to the Electronic Day/Night Mirror when the Ignition Switch is in "RUN". A photocell amplifier in the mirror assembly activates the electronics in that assembly when headlamps approaching from the rear are sensed.
Contacts in the Manual Lever Position (MLP) Sensor closes when the transmission is in "REVERSE". With this switch closed, power flows from Fuse 10, the 294 (W/LB) wire, the Switch and the 140 (BK/PK) wire to the Electronic Day/Night Mirror. This voltage at the mirror assembly deactivates the electronic circuit in the mirror assembly to prevent the mirror from switching to the "NIGHT" position when the transmission is in "REVERSE".
