Sunroof / Moonroof: Description and Operation

OPERATION

With the Ignition Switch in "ACC" or "RUN", voltage is applied to the Moonroof Switch Assembly contacts through Circuit Breaker 14. With the Moonroof Switch at rest, the Moonroof Motor wires are grounded. When the Moonroof Switch is activated, one of the Moonroof Motor wires is removed from ground and is connected to battery voltage, causing the motor to run in one direction. Pressing the Moonroof Switch in the opposite direction causes the Moonroof Motor to run in the opposite direction.

If the Moonroof becomes misaligned or jarred, a self-resetting circuit breaker in the Moonroof Motor protects the motor from high current draw.
