Cooling System: Service and Repair
A pressurized reservoir system is used which constantly separates the air from the
cooling system. When the thermostat is open, coolant flows through a small hose from the top of the radiator outlet tank to the reservoir. The reservoir separates any entrapped air from the coolant and replenishes the system through the lower hose. The reservoir serves as the location for service fill, coolant expansion during warm up, system pressurization from the pressure cap and air separation during operation. The reservoir is designed to have approximately
0.5-1 liter of air when cold to allow for coolant expansion. Add coolant to the minimum level on the reservoir.
