A/C Compressor Clutch Circuit and Fan
A/C Compressor Clutch Circuit and Fan:
A/C Compressor Clutch Circuit
Operation of the A/C clutch is dependent upon the following conditions:
^ Demand signal from EATC control
^ State of pressure switch (refrigerant charge level)
VCRM strategy:
^ A/C head pressure sensor signal
^ PCM input on WAC line
PCM strategy: (A/C clutch will be oft with a ground signal to PCM on WAC line)
^ WOT cutout
^ Electronic ignition failure
^ Engine stall
^ High engine coolant temperature
^ High engine RPM
^ Idle anticipation
^ Engine start-up
^ A/C system rapid cycle prevention timer
^ Low charge
Ambient temperature must be above approximately 100°C (500°F) for the A/C compressor to operate.
