Fuel Filter: Service and Repair

Fuel Filter, Fuel Supply And Return Lines:






REMOVAL

1. Shut engine OFF. Depressurize the fuel system using EFI-CFI Fuel Pressure Gauge T8OL-9974-B.

2. Raise vehicle on hoist.

3. Remove wheel and tire.

4. Remove RH front fender apron.

5. Remove the push connect fittings at both ends of the fuel filter and base. Install new retainer clips in each push connect fitting.

6. Remove screw attaching fuel filter and base on RH front fender apron.

7. Remove retainer tab from sheet metal.

8. Remove fuel filter and base from tension bracket. Note the direction of the flow arrow as installed in the bracket to ensure proper direction of fuel flow through replacement fuel filter.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the fuel filter and base into the bracket, ensuring the proper direction of flow.

2. Insert tab into sheet metal and install screw.

3. Install the push connect fittings onto the fuel filter and base ends.

4. Install the front fender apron.

5. Install wheel and tire.

6. Start engine and check for leaks.

7. Lower vehicle.
