Ford Motor Company is providing no-charge Service Programs, Numbers 93B22 and 93B23, to owners of certain 1993 Model Year Mark VIII cars.

REASON FOR THIS PROGRAM
We have found that continuous water dripping from a hole in the cowl area may be ingested into the throttle position sensor. This can cause a no start condition, erratic transmission shifts, malfunction indicator light on or high idle speeds.

In addition, the air suspension ride height sensors on some of these cars may ingest water causing the vehicle's ride height to move to suspension limits. Should this occur, you may notice a change in vehicle attitude from front to rear and side to side. A driver would be alerted to the condition when the air suspension malfunction indicator appears on the message center.

NO COST SERVICE
At no charge to you, your dealer will seal the hole in the cowl, install a water shield, replace the throttle position sensor and the ride height sensors on your car. This no charge service will be available through the basic vehicle warranty period or through August 31, 1994, whichever provides greater coverage.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
The time needed for this service is less than two hours. However, due to service scheduling times, your dealer may need your car for one full working day.

CALL YOUR DEALER
Ask for a service date and if parts are in stock.

If your dealer does not have the parts in stock, they can be ordered before scheduling your service date. Parts would be expected to arrive within a week.

When you bring your car in, give the dealer this letter.

If you misplact this letter, your dealer will still do the work, free of charge.

REFUNDS
If you paid to have this service done before the date of this letter, Ford is offering a full refund. For the refund, please show your paid work-order to your Lincoln-Mercury dealer.

CHANGED ADDRESS OR SOLD THE CAR?
Please fill out the enclosed prepaid postcard and mail it to us if you have changed your address or sold the car.
