Cruise Control: Service Precautions
CAUTION: Both airbag modules must be disconnected to properly disarm system.DEACTIVATE
1. Disconnect negative, then positive battery cable.
2. Wait one minute for backup power supply to discharge.
3. Remove four nut and washer assemblies retaining driver airbag module to the steering wheel.
4. Disconnect driver airbag module connector.
5. Attach Rotunda Airbag Simulator 105-00010 or equivalent, to vehicle harness at top of steering column.
6. Remove instrument panel mouldings, instrument panel finish panel retaining screws, then the panel.
7. Open glove compartment, press sides inward and lower glove compartment to floor.
8. Working through glove compartment opening, remove two lower airbag module retaining bolts.
9. Remove four remaining airbag module retaining screws, then disconnect electrical connector and remove airbag module.
10. Install a second Rotunda Airbag Simulator 105-00010 or equivalent, on vehicle airbag harness connector.
11. Connect battery cables.
REACTIVATE
1. Disconnect negative, then positive battery cable.
2. Wait one minute for backup power supply to deplete stored energy.
3. Remove airbag simulator from vehicle harness at top of steering column.
4. Connect driver airbag connector.
5. Position driver airbag on steering wheel and secure with four nut and washer assemblies.
6. Remove airbag simulator from passenger harness connector.
7. Install passenger airbag as follows:
a. Connect electrical connector to airbag module and position module in instrument panel.
b. Install four upper retaining screws.
c. Install lower module retaining bolts.
d. Return glove compartment to correct position, then install instrument panel finish panel.
e. Install instrument panel mouldings.
8. Connect battery cables.
9. Verify system operation.
