Courtesy Lamp: Description and Operation
The Dome/Map/Reading Lamps are powered through Fuse 6 when the Ignition Switch is in ACC or RUN. All other Courtesy Lamp circuits are powered at all times.
Fuse 17 powers the Glove Box Lamp, Vanity Mirror Lamps, Trunk Lid Lamp, Engine Compartment, and all four Courtesy Lamp Switches. Theo Courtesy Lamp Switches control operation of the Curb Illumination Lamps, the Lock Cylinder Lamps, the Underseat Lamps and the Dome Lamps. On vehicles equipped with Keyless Entry, the Keyless Entry Module operates the same lamps as the Courtesy Lamp Switches operate.
Fuse 11 powers the Main Light Switch, which is used to control directly the Ashtray Lamps, Clock Illumination, and other Courtesy Lamps.
When activated, the Delayed Exit Relay will illuminate the Ashtray, Cigar Lighter and Clock Lamps since they are on the same circuit as the Exterior Park Lamps.
The Courtesy Lamp Switches also provide a door open input to the Air Suspension Module. The Module will not lower the car while a door open input is present.
