Dual Exhaust

Exhaust System Component Locations:

REMOVAL

1. Raise vehicle.
2. Remove retaining bolts for each converter at H-pipe flange.
3. Remove converter to exhaust manifold retaining nuts.
4. Slide pipe rearward until catalytic converter(s) can be removed.

INSTALLATION

1. Clean all mating surfaces.
2. Position the catalytic converter(s) to the exhaust manifold and loosely install the retaining nuts.
3. Install new gaskets between the inlet H-pipe and the converter. Position the inlet pipe flange to the converter outlet flange connections and insert new retaining bolts.
4. Alternately tighten the converter to inlet pipe flange connection(s) to 26-33 lb. ft. (34-46 N-m).
NOTE: Alternate tightening of the joint fastener is required to provide uniform clamping. This will prevent joint distortion, a major cause of system leaks and misadjustment.
5. Lower the vehicle, START the engine and check the system for exhaust leaks.
