Upper

Front Suspension:





Removal
1. Raise the front of the vehicle, and position safety stands under both sides of the frame just behind lower arm.
2. Remove the wheel and tire.

CAUTION: The floor jack will support the spring load on the lower arm.

3. Position floor jack under the lower arm, and raise jack to support lower arm.
4. Remove retaining nut from upper ball joint stud to spindle pinch bolt.
5. TAP pinch bolt to remove from spindle.
6. With a suitable pry bar, spread slot to allow ball joint stud to release out of spindle.
7. Remove the upper arm retaining bolts and the upper arm assembly.

Upper Control Assembly:





Installation
1. Use reference marks from camber and caster cams as initial settings.
2. Position the upper arm shaft to the frame bracket. Install the two retaining bolts and washers. Position arm in center of slot adjustment range. Tighten to 136-190 N-m (101-140 lb-ft).
3. Connect the upper ball joint stud to the spindle and install the retaining pinch bolt and nut. Tighten the nut to 76-104 N-m (56-77 lb-ft).
4. Install the wheel and tire.
5. Remove safety stands and lower front of vehicle.
6. Check caster, camber, and toe. Adjust as required.
