AB: Functional Tests

AB1 STEP 1

- Functional Tests are used in some of the STAR CODE Pinpoint Tests to aid in system diagnosis.

- The Functional Test mode can only be entered after Service Bay Diagnostics have been performed. A STAR CODE 11 or any other STAR CODES must be displayed before the Functional Test mode can be entered.

- Are STAR CODES displayed?


Yes

GO to AB2.

No

REPEAT (Service Bay Diagnostics) . If Service Bay Diagnostics cannot be entered, GO to Pinpoint (Test N). N

AB2 STEP 2

- Release STAR Tester button to the HOLD (up) position.

- Wait at least 20 seconds.

- Depress STAR Tester button to the TEST (down) position.

- STAR CODE 23 should be displayed, then STAR CODES 26, 31, 32 and 33 will be displayed in order. Each STAR CODE will be displayed for about 15 seconds. After all the STAR CODES are displayed, they will be repeated as long as the STAR Test button is in TEST (down) position.

- Are functional test STAR CODES displayed?

Yes

GO to AB3.

No

RELEASE STAR Tester button to HOLD (up) position. Wait 20 seconds and depress button to TEST (down) position. If Functional Test STAR CODES are still not displayed, REPEAT Service Bay Diagnostics

AB3 STEP 3

- The following chart lists the Functional Test STAR CODES:






- Within four seconds after the desired Functional Test STAR CODE is displayed, release the STAR Tester button to the HOLD (up) position.

NOTE:
Waiting longer than four seconds will cause the next Function Test to be entered.

- As long as the STAR Tester button is in the HOLD (up) position, the Functional Test will continue.

NOTE:
The STAR Tester may or may not display the STAR CODE for the Functional Test selected.

- Example: Functional Test STAR CODE 32 is selected. STAR Tester may display STAR CODE 31, even though Functional Test 32 is being run.

- To exit a Functional Test, depress the STAR Tester button to the TEST (down) position.

- The Functional Test STAR CODES will be displayed. The STAR CODES will be displayed for about 15 seconds each and will be repeated over and over. The Functional Tests may be entered and exited as often as desired.
