^ NOISE - HEARD IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT COMING FROM THE "A" PILLAR AREA - VEHICLES BUILT FROM 8/1/90 THROUGH 7/1/93

LINCOLN-MERCURY:
1991-93 TOWN CAR

ISSUE:
Customers may experience windnoise along the "A" pillar and at the top of both front doors. This may be caused by:

^ air/wind rushing up the "A" pillar between the roof siderail weatherstrip assembly (also called "shed lip weatherstrip assembly") and the primary door seal, or by

^ lack of seal contact between the weatherstrip assembly and the top of the door when the door is adjusted outboard.

ACTION:
If the windnoise concern has been diagnosed as either of the causes stated above, replace the roof side rail weatherstrip assembly with an improved weatherstrip. The new weatherstrips have been revised to correct the gap to door. Refer to the following procedure for service details.

1. Remove roof side rail weatherstrips (RH and/or LH) and discard.

NOTE:
NO TOOLS ARE NEEDED.

2. Install new roof side rail weatherstrip assemblies.

NOTE:
MAKE SURE ALL PUSH-PINS ARE PROPERLY ALIGNED AND FULLY SEATED.
