ISSUE:
A "ticking", "pinging" or "popping" noise may occur when the air conditioning compressor cycles. The noise is caused by the A/C clutch cycling pressure switch operation.

ACTION:
Install a new suction line assembly that incorporates the A/C clutch cycling switch onto the hose assembly. Refer to the following procedure for service details.

1. Remove the clutch cycling pressure switch from the accumulator.

a. Disconnect the wire connector from the clutch cycling pressure switch.

b. Unscrew the clutch cycling pressure switch from the suction accumulator and discard it.

2. Install a new A/C suction hose assembly (F3VY-19867-A) that incorporates the A/C clutch cycling switch onto the hose assembly.

3. Extend the wiring harness to enable the connector that originally attached to the cycling switch on the accumulator to reach the new switch location on the suction hose.

4. Install an A/C service port cap (E1VY-19D702-A) on the original A/C clutch cycling pressure switch port.
