Ford Motor Company is providing a no-charge service program number 95B64, for owners of certain 1993-Model Crown Victoria, Grand Marquis, Town Car and Mark VIII cars.

Reason For This Program
A sensor in the transmission of your car may have been manufactured with a lubricant that can cause the sensor to produce improper signals.

A sensor producing improper signals can cause erratic transmission shifting and, in some instances, intermediate one-way clutch failure. The transmission may fail if the erratic shifting condition is not repaired. The intermediate one-way clutch is the only transmission component that is affected by the sensor.

No Charge Service
At no charge to you, your dealer will inspect and, if necessary, replace the sensor according to the instructions provided by Ford. The inspection will determine the manufacturing date of the sensor. Certain sensors in a particular range of time have the lubricant which can cause the sensor to produce improper signals.

Service for inspection and replacement of the sensor is available through March 31, 1996.

Coverage is provided for the intermediate one-way clutch during the Vehicle Warranty or through March 31, 1996, (whichever provides the greater coverage).

If the clutch assembly is replaced, Service Part Warranty is provided for 12-months or 12,000-miles from the date/miles of the repair.

How Long Will It Take?
The time needed for this service is about two hours. However, due to service scheduling times, your dealer may need your car for one full working day.

Call Your Dealer
Ask for a service date and if parts are in stock for Service Program 95B64.

If your dealer does not have the parts in stock, they can be ordered before scheduling your service date. Parts would be expected to arrive within a week.

When you bring your car in, show the dealer this letter.

If you misplace this letter, your dealer will still do the work, free of charge.

Courtesy Cars
Ford will pay for a loaner car, if it is necessary, while repairs are being completed except for fuel costs. Fuel costs are your expense.

Refunds
If you paid to have this service done before the date of this letter Ford will provide a refund for the replacement of the sensor and the intermediate one-way clutch assembly. Present your paid original receipt to your dealer by March 31, 1996.
