DD100 - Check EGR Valve Function



Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 332 indicates the EGR valve did not open when load and requested conditions had been met sometime during vehicle operation.

Possible causes:

- Damaged EGR Position (EGRP) sensor/EGR valve assembly.

- Damaged EGR valve vacuum line.

- Damaged EGR Vacuum (EGRV) solenoid vacuum lines.

- Damaged EGR Atmospheric (EGRA) solenoid vacuum line.

- Key "OFF".

- Disconnect and plug EGR valve vacuum line at the EGR valve.

- Connect a hand vacuum pump to the EGR valve.

- Apply 34 kPa (10 in Hg) of vacuum to the EGR valve and release while observing valve for movement.

- Does the EGR valve function properly?

Yes -- Remove vacuum pump. Unplug vacuum line. Go to DD101. DD101 - Check EGR Valve Vacuum Line

No -- Remove the EGRP sensor/EGR valve assembly. Inspect the EGR valve for blockage, binding, contamination and leakage, etc. Service as necessary. Clear continuous memory. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
