System Reactivation Procedures

WARNING: The air bag simulator(s) must be removed and the air bag(s) reconnected when the system is reactivated.

1. Disconnect positive battery cable and wait one minute for backup power supply to deplete its energy.
2. Remove Rotunda Air Bag Simulators 105-00010 or equivalent from air bag sliding contact connector and passenger air bag harness connector.
3. Reconnect driver side air bag module.






4. Position driver side air bag module on steering wheel and secure with four nut and washer assemblies 10 mm (0.4 inch). Tighten nut and washer assemblies to 4-5.6 Nm (35-50 in lbs).

NOTE: On vehicles with bucket seat and console - secure with two retaining screws. Tighten to 10.2-13.8 Nm (90-122 in lbs). Install two back cover plugs.

5. Reconnect passenger side air bag module. Tighten bolts to 7.6-10.4 Nm (67-92 in lbs) and screws to 2.7-3.7 Nm (24-33 in lbs).
6. Close glove compartment door.
7. Connect positive battery cable.
8. Prove out system.
