Wheel Speed Sensor: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The Brake Sensor is a variable reluctance sensor and toothed speed indicator ring used to determine wheel speed.

OPERATION
As the teeth pass by reluctance sensor, a pulsing voltage signal is generated and sent to anti-lock brake control module. The voltage pulses are directly proportional to rotational wheel speed.
